Service Description

Session dates: Dec 2- Dec 16( 3 weeks) Prerequisite is Level 4 or level 5 or equivalent of 1-2 years of glass experience This is section 3 of 3 covering assembling a goblet using parts stored in the garage. Main goals of this class are repetition and gaining skills around blowing and maintaining thin glass. Each student will learn how to load parts in the garage, how to load parts onto a spatula and how to assemble a goblet by adding a goblet cup + avolio to a blown stem + foot.. The ISW session is split into 3 sections. Section 1: Pulled cups and Avolios, Section 2: Blown Stems and Feet and Section 3: Garage Assembly. This is weekly class running 6 weeks on Tuesday from 6:30-9:30 or Thurs 6:30-9:30pm and Sunday from 12:30-3:30pm. All 3 classes have the same curriculum which will include demonstrations in each class followed by hands on practice time for the students. Students may switch from one class to another class is there is open space available. Syllabus Section 3 : Garage Assembly Week 1 Sunday Nov 30, Tues Dec 2, and Thurs Dec 4 Using the garage + assemble premade cup and foot *Load 1 cup + 1 stem into garage for each student Week 2 Sunday Dec 7, Tues Dec 9, and Thurs Dec 11 Make stem + assemble premade cup onto stem using spatula Week 3 Sunday Dec 14, Tues Dec 16, and Thurs Dec 18 Design your own- make your own goblet- no demo, time is split equally among students Students can use color, optics, supio, or sculptural parts *Goal is to assemble a cup + stem of any type
