This class includes instruction from 12pm - 4pm each session, with incorporated practice time until 7pm. In this two session 'mini' masterclass, you will learn Maria's method for how she creates her signature 'Gems' rock glasses and 'Gelatin' bowls. The class will cover techniques involved in the full glassblowing process of making her thick-bottomed vessels. The class will also cover Maria's favorite subject, color, with overview of various color application she uses in her work, including veil murrine. The focus of the class is on fun use of color with an emphasis on refining technique to create simple yet visually clean forms. Prerequisites: able to make a simple rocks glass to spec, experience with pulling cane or murrine, and recommended experience doing a stuffed cup.
