Fusing and Slumping Intro | Vases

Service Description

Jump into the world of fused and slumped sheet glass in this 3 hour introductory class. In this fusing class, beginners will get to design your own small vase using sheet glass that will be shaped in the kiln. In order to create patterns with glass, students will learn to cut and grind glass into shapes as well as layer colors using crushed glass called frit. After glass will be layered to create the patterns then it will be put into the kiln for all the layers to be fused together. Then the glass will be put over a mold to be fired a second time to be turned into a vase.

Cancellation Policy

For help with your booking contact info@publicglass.org Cancellation Policy: No credit or refund can be issued if a cancellation occurs 9 days or less before your class date. This helps us guarantee stable wages for our hard-working artist instructors. If a cancellation occurs 10 days or more before the start of class, please submit a written request to operations@publicglass.org as soon as you know of a possible conflict. Your account will be credited with the cost of the class. You can apply this credit to a future class, our online shop, or event. Please email operations@publicglass.org to use the credit on your account. Excessive rescheduling will result in an administrative fee. ​ Online class registration closes 2 days before the first session. For late registration, questions or guidance on our programs, please email us at: info@publicglass.org. As a small nonprofit, our goal is to keep access to the studios affordable and to employ the independent artists who have committed to teach you. Monetary refunds are issued at the discretion of management. In the rare case that we are able to issue a refund, our processing platforms will keep a minimum of 10% non-refundable fees. Keeping the credit on your account is highly encouraged. It ensures that you get to keep 100% of your credit while supporting our artists and community.
