About the event
Join us during Downtown First Thursday at the Public Glass Gallery located on 149 New Montgomery, at the corner of Minna, on November 7th starting at 5PM. The surrounding streets will be activated with performers and vendors presented by Into the Streets, an organization focused on keeping SF vibrant with cultural happenings. The gallery gathering is a free event, all are welcome.
Currently on display is a project started by Mary White, a timeline that traces the evolution of glass art in California. Spanning from the late 1950s to its presentation at the 2015 Glass Art Society conference in San Jose, this timeline serves as a crucial record of the medium's development within California. We invite glass artists, curators, historians, and enthusiasts to contribute updates and information to bring this timeline into the present. Your insights will help illuminate the rich history of California’s glass art movement and highlight our own participation in it as we continue to shape it for future generations.
Sip a celebratory beverage, enjoy good conversation and adventure into the surrounding street activations during Downtown First Thursday. We look forwarding to seeing you at the gallery on Thursday Nov 7th.
