Service Description

This is a flameworking 4 day intensive class focused on teaching techniques for sculpting hollow female forms in color and clear glass on the torch. All demonstrations will be made using borosilicate glass. The class will focus on how to form hollow female figure parts individually and create different forms in at least three color styles. Lisa will bring and make prepared sections for everyone to have chance to try each type (transparent color, solid color as well as clear) on the torch. This course will cover techniques applied into larger hollow sculpted pieces, multi sectional sculpture building, as well as single section sculpting methods. Discussions will center around how to use gravity, how gravity lends to sculpting techniques, and then how to apply those techniques to various projects and designs. Lisa will also demonstrate methods of making your own transparent & opaque colored tube pulls, to use hollow sections for sculpting. The class will be formatted so that Lisa will demo in the morning and students will get hands on practice time with oversight from Lisa in the afternoon. Each student will receive mini guide of the step by step instructions for basic female form shaping, including pictures to use at torch in class and take home.
