Service Description
Prerequisite: No previous experience required. Contact operations@publicglass.org if you have questions about this class! If you are new to stained glass or a seasoned professional, this class will appeal to you. You will quickly learn the basics of stained glass cutting, copper foiling, and soldering. The focus of the workshop is painting techniques including airbrushing glass (using an atomizer), “pen and ink drawing” (using a crow-quill pen), printing using an existing silk-screen the instructor will bring, and painting glass. You do not need to be a professional painter, as we will be tracing images. Enamels are painted then kiln fired onto the surface of the glass, then the glass is soldered together. The choice of imagery is totally up to your imagination. Expect to make a twelve- by-twelve finished stained glass panel plus many samples. Framing, lighting and advice on marketing your work will be discussed in class.
