ISW Tuesday | Spring w/ Practice Slots

Service Description

Intermediate Skills Workshop is designed to introduce and develop an array of new skills and techniques for students who have exceeded the level of training offered by the Public Glass core curriculum(Levels 1-4) . Requirement: Hot Glass Level 4 or equivalent The session will cover how to make a bowl and all of its ups and downs. We will start with making a high bowl shape and working our way to down to a low bowl. This class is designed to slowly transition students so the class will be split into 3 sections: high bowl, medium half circle bowl, and low bowl. It will also transition in the size of a bowl so students will start at making small cereal bowls to making bigger salad bowls. Skills learned in this class will include the paper, parchoffis, and dropped solid feet. Students will learn the importance of proper heating, turning and assisting with paddles . *Bowls are an up close experience so please bring a kevlar sleeve with you ISW sessions will include: A weekly class on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:30 or Sunday afternoons from 12:30-3:30, which will include demonstrations and discussions designed to move your process forward. An added blow slot that you'll schedule each week is your opportunity to practice what you've learned and to integrate those lessons into the execution of your own work. There are 7 blowslots total for this 14 week class. Jan 23rd- April 23rd 2024 New format~ In order to sign up for the blowslots with ISW, students will need to go to the membership page and sign up for the ISW blowslots or ISW blowslots premium membership. This will allow students to be able to track the number of blowslots throughout the class. Color is not included in the blowslots. ISW students with blowslots must have a general member/ silver/ gold membership in order to buy the ISW blowslots ISW Blowslots: $700 total for 7 sessions = $100 per blowslot This includes the glory hole rental for either the small or big hole $1550 (class price without blowslots) + $700= $2,250 ISW Blowslots Premium : $875 for 7 sessions = $125 per slot This includes all hot shop services: gloryhole rental ( small or large), garage, fluffy torch, and oxy/ propane torch rentals $1550 (class price without blowslots) + $875 = $2425 Book blowslots under ISW personal slot small/large *prorated options available- email operations for more questions

Cancellation Policy

For help with your booking please contact info@publicglass.org Cancellation Policy: No credit or refund can be issued if a cancellation occurs 9 days or less before your class date. This helps us guarantee stable wages for our hard-working artist instructors. If a cancellation occurs 10 days or more before the start of class, please submit a written request to operations@publicglass.org as soon as you know of a possible conflict. Your account will be credited with the cost of the class. You can apply this credit to a future class, our online shop, or event. Please email operations@publicglass.org to use the credit on your account. Excessive rescheduling will result in an administrative fee. ​ Online class registration closes 2 days before the first session. For late registration, questions or guidance on our programs, please email us at: info@publicglass.org. As a small nonprofit, our goal is to keep access to the studios affordable and to employ the independent artists who have committed to teach you. Monetary refunds are issued at the discretion of management. In the rare case that we are able to issue a refund, our processing platforms will keep a minimum of 10% non-refundable fees. Keeping the credit on your account is highly encouraged. It ensures that you get to keep 100% of your credit while supporting our artists and community.
