Service Description

Sand casting offers an opportunity to make solid castings in furnace glass in a very immediate and satisfying manner. This class will introduce students to the process, starting with a short lecture and idea generating session before the workshop to familiarize students with the possibilities of sand casting and give them time to prepare objects and models for the casting session. The workshop will cover the mixing and sifting of sand for forming molds, creating molds, the handling of ladles, casting hot, and appropriate cleanup, with a brief note on annealing.
