Casting
We offer classes in two types of casting: Kiln Casting and Hot Casting
Kiln Casting is an easy way to manipulate solid glass into almost any shape, usually working with plaster molds. Molds are made and then loaded with small bits of glass that become molten and fill the mold. Ages 16+
Hot Casting is hotter, faster and more hands-on. In hotcasting, a mold is prepared by making an impression in specially prepared sand. Molten glass is then ladled straight into the mold at 2200°F. Ages 14+
All glass objects must be cooled for a period of at least 12 hours after creation, and will be available for pickup as soon as the following day.
Please note that we have a 7 Day Cancellation Policy for all of our classes and workshops.
