Carmen
Ruiz-Davila Announced as Recipient of MOCA Cleveland Award
JUNE 13 2003 - Carmen Ruiz-Davila, guest instructor at Public Glass, has recently
been awarded the Wendy L. Moore Emerging Artist Series Award from the Museum
of Contemporary Art, Cleveland. As part of this award, the museum will host
a solo exhibition of Carmen’s work from May through August 2004, produce
a color catalogue of the work created during her fellowship, and give her
a cash stipend to help defray expenses.
At Public Glass Carmen has been involved with our casting and alternative glass techniques programs and has recently worked with Oakland artist David Ruddell as part of Public Glass’ ASAP program.

Alland Receives 2003 Pilchuck/Public Glass Partner Scholarship
APRIL 1 2003 - Public Glass is happy to announce Julie Alland as the 2003
recipient of the Pilchuck/Public Glass partner scholarship. With this program,
both Pilchuck and Public Glass provide half scholarships to an outstanding
student. Public Glass was chosen as one of Pilchuck's partners because of
our artistic leadership and the respect we've earned as an institution.
Applicants' work was reviewed by a panel of artists and college-level instructors with the key criteria being the artistic and creative merit of the work and the recipient's capacity to participate in the creative environment at Pilchuck.
