Paul DeSomma

Paul DeSomma is interested in exploring the process of actively viewing a work of art. His new sculptures are part of an ongoing series exploring the optics of clear glass. “These pieces allow the eye to go through and around the piece, rather than just resting on the object,” says the artist. “As a result, the glass becomes a responsive facet of the environment.”

Patricia Ludovici

Be Brave, Clenched Fists
Oct. 17 - 31, 2008

“Be Brave. Clenched Fists.” will open on October 10th at Public Glass. This exhibition by Patricia Ludovici of glass sculptures with multimedia elements is based on everyday objects used in extraordinary ways. At first glance, viewers may be drawn in by the surface beauty of Ms. Ludovici’s works. On closer examination, however, they will sense the works’ disquieting suggestions. “I intend to create a seductive, yet discomforting environment that makes the viewer uneasy, as if something is out of place,” says Ms. Ludovici.

The exhibition opened with a reception on October 10th from 6-8 and ran through October 31st.
