“It takes a village” to operate and maintain a
non-profit glass studio, and that’s why we’re graciously asking
you to help us by becoming a member of Public Glass. As a member, you’ll
enjoy the benefits outlined below, plus get the great satisfaction of helping
Public Glass remain strong as the Bay Area’s center for education and
creation in glass — for everyone.
We also encourage you to join our volunteer community. We
have many opportunities available on both a project and ongoing basis.

PUBLIC GLASS 2010/2011 MEMBERSHIP GUIDE

- Reduced Hot Shop and Warm Shop rental rates
- Unlimited Cold Shop usage
- 10% discount on all classes signed up for between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011
- Funding capital and maintenance improvements at Public Glass
- Being a member of San Francisco’s Center for Glass Art
- Access to the facilities during the hours of 7A – 10P
- Follow all shop rules
- All rentals must be paid for the same day you book the rental unless otherwise specified by management
- •Keep your payments for rentals or other services current
- Help keep all Public Glass shared areas clean and presentable
- Be safe and work safe at Public Glass
- Promote Public Glass and it's programs
- Respect and help other renters, students, members and visitors
- Attend one safety workshop class at Public Glass a year. This is a new requirement to keep everyone up to date on safety procedures each year
- Have fun
- $140 per slot in the Hot Shop
- Includes 25lbs glass and usage of shared glass blowing tools. There will be a $1.25/lb charge for glass beyond 25 lbs
- Includes half of a top-loading annealer or 1/3 of a front-loading annealer and standard thermal cycle time
- Any extended cycles must be approved by staff. Extended profiles beyond 14 hrs. will be charged $50 for an additional day.
- The cost to rent an entire annealer is $50 per day. Any profile over 14hrs will b e billed for an additional day
- $10/hr for Lampworking
- $70/24 hr run of a kiln in the Warm Shop
- Subject to availability
- Some kilns may have an additional cost because of size
- No cost for Cold Shop usage
- Cold Shop usage requires taking an orientation class before use

- Non-Members may not have unsupervised access to any part of the facility. Supervision will be monitored and defined by management
- Non-Members must sign liability waiver, pay in advance for all services or rentals, and sign the shop rules document before entering shop area
