PUBLIC GLASS 7th Annual Auction

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (April 16, 2011) – Public Glass, San Francisco's center for glass art, will hold it's annual auction at the First Unitarian Universalist Church Artists & Artisans, in support of the non-profit studio and school.

Auctioneer Kip Toner of Kip Toner Benefit Auctions will presided over the exquisite creations of more than 60 local, national and international glass artists, all up for bid via live and silent auction. Some of the medium's most renowned talents contributed pieces to the auction, including Oben Abright, renowned for his glass sculptures of the human form; David Patchen, known for his complex use of colorful murrini; steel and glass sculptor JP Long; and Bella Feldman.

Public Glass is proud to partner with East Bay Batch and Color to present three awards tonight for Outstanding Achievement in Hot Glass and in Warm Glass, as well as, Best in Show. We thank East Bay Batch and Color for their generous donation to fund these award prizes!dies at Public Glass.

In addition to these awards, we will also present the People’s Choice Award, which will be chosen by you, our guests. Please make sure to take a ballot form and vote for your favorite piece of the evening. The winner of this award will receive a scholarship to Public Glass to continue their work in the medium.

Artists & Artisans is Public Glass' biggest fundraising event of the year, providing vital support for Public Glass and its facilities, which are used by some 180 working artists and more than 300 students a year.
